MY JOURNEY TO WELLNESS

Although today I am a holistic healer leveraging multiple disciplines (integrative nutrition, wellness coaching, organic homesteading, farm education and Jewish spirituality), I wasn’t always so invested in mind-body-heart-spirit wellness.

When I was in high school, I began to use food to stuff my emotions. I didn’t even realize I was doing it. This continued through college, where I quickly gained the “freshman 15” (and then some). So I tried my first restrictive diet. I lived on shakes, lost the weight and for a while, I felt great. But I couldn’t keep that up for very long. I fell back into familiar habits, ultimately damaging my metabolism and gut biome. By graduation, I started experiencing painful gas and digestive upset.

Acknowledging the Problem

When I was finally willing to face what was going on, I became aware of the vicious cycle of my covering up uncomfortable symptoms and fueling my hungry heart with food. This led me to a more enlightened path that has taken me to where I am today.

Taking Action

I started with self-reflection and began working through my emotional pain, which is an essential part of the healing process. And then I did research. Lots of research! I found dietary guidelines that could help heal my microbiome. I learned about nourishing myself with friends, spiritual practices, connection to the earth and self love instead of the self abuse of my compulsive overeating. With this whole being approach, I learned what worked well for my body, emotions, and spirit: then I learned to adapt it over time, since our bodies change throughout our lives.

“Long lasting change can only come from kindness to yourself.”
– Geneen Roth

Experiencing a Shift

By my late 20s, I was immersed in the holistic lifestyle and loved it. My perspective was shifting profoundly. I wanted to learn how to grow my own food and became excited to connect my food and the natural order of healthy farm systems. Connecting healthy living with food grown naturally and connected to the soil provided the next level of understanding of healthy food systems and healthy bodies. Life is all about connection.

Going All In

After earning a Masters of Science in Nutrition, becoming a Registered Dietitian, and committing to growing clean food, I realized that nourishing myself spiritually would bring the next phase of sustained healing. Being ordained as a Kohenet Hebrew Priestess supported my development of a spiritual practice that was pragmatic and deeply fulfilling and helps me guide others in the development of their own holistic wellness

Now I have raised two kids, many veggies and animals for food, and helped hundreds of people learn what their bodies need to heal from the inside out. We integrate healthy meal plans, learn to listen to our innate wisdom, while embracing nourishing relationships and activities that bring body, heart, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Guiding Principle

The combination of learning to nourish yourself in the Kabbalistic Four worlds of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual combined with time in nature, and lifestyle medicine that is suited for your constitution brings about inner wellness that allows for rejuvenation and vitality.

I created a framework that integrates wellness within for optimal nourishment.

Sharing the Wisdom

I have a variety of individual and group programs that guide you to activate your healing, self growth, and transformation – including signature systems for managing blood sugar balance, digestive disturbance, auto-immune disease, emotional eating and chronic inflammation.

Join me on this journey to nourish wellness within. I know you’re going to love it, too!
